Changes at home

Speak with your housing team if your contact details, household or circumstances change. Tell them what has changed and ask whether any documents need updating.

Before someone moves in or you make changes to the property, check your agreement and discuss any permission needed. If your support needs change, tell your support team too.

Thinking about moving

Talk with your housing and support teams about what is not working and what you would like from a different home. Explain any location, accessibility or support needs that matter to you.

Ask how a transfer or a new housing enquiry would be considered, who needs to be involved and what the next step is. A request does not guarantee that another home is available.

Leaving your home

Before making arrangements, check the notice requirements in your agreement with your housing team. Ask them to confirm how to give notice and the date your tenancy or licence would end.

• Agree how and when to return your keys.
• Ask about any inspection, belongings and cleaning arrangements.
• Check the final rent and service charge position.
• Arrange a forwarding contact and discuss any support needed for your move.

Keep a copy of the agreed arrangements and any written confirmation.

Help with documents and communication

Ask your housing team for help finding your agreement or understanding a letter. Tell them if you would like information explained differently, in an accessible format or with a trusted person present.
