What is Local Housing Allowance?

Local Housing Allowance (LHA) is a form of Housing Benefit designed to help cover rent costs for tenants renting from private landlords. LHA rates are determined by the local area you reside in and are used to calculate the maximum amount of Housing Benefit one is entitled to, based on the type of accommodation and the local rental market conditions.

How we calculate rent

Our rent calculations are directly linked to the LHA rates to ensure affordability and compliance with local housing regulations. Here is how we determine your weekly or monthly rent:

• Determine Your LHA Rate: We first identify the LHA rate applicable to your local area and your bedroom entitlement based on your specific housing needs.
